    Cheddar cheese, grated
  • For the mince:

  • 8 pinches
    Fine Rock Salt 500g

  • 1 tbsp
    oil
  • 500 g
    minced beef or minced lamb
  • 2 tbsp
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp
    flour
  • 100 ml
    red wine
  • 1 tsp
    mustard
  • To serve:

  • 1 bunch
    parsley

For the stock, mix the water and vegetable stock and let steep until ready to use.

Peel and roughly dice the potatoes, then boil them in salted water until soft. Drain and mash together with the milk and butter. Season with salt and the Potato Allrounder.

Peel, halve and finely dice the onion. Peel the carrots and also finely dice.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the mince over medium heat for 4 minutes. Add the onion and carrots and fry for 2 more minutes. Add the butter and tomato paste and fry for 1 minute. Sprinkle over the flour and mix thoroughly.

Deglaze with the red wine, add the stock and bring to a boil. Stir in the mustard and season with the Rock Salt. Simmer for 20 minutes on a gentle heat.

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Carefully pour the mince sauce into a greased casserole dish, spread with the mashed potatoes and top with the Cheddar cheese. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, wash and finely chop the parsley leaves, discarding the stems. Remove the finished shepherd’s pie from the oven and garnish with the parsley.
