Servings
  • For the Christmas tree:

  • 2 rolls
    puff pastry (from the fridge)
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tbsp
    milk
  • A little
    icing sugar
  • For the nougat cream:

  • 1 tbsp
    Cocoa Banana Porridge Spice
A mouth-watering mix for your morning porridge £0.00 £54.36/kg incl. 0% tax, excl. shipping
  • 100 g
    nougat
  • 5 tbsp
    hazelnut butter
  • 30 g
    cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp
    coconut oil

1
For the nougat cream, heat the nougat together with the hazelnut butter over a water bath. Add the cocoa powder and coconut oil and mix thoroughly. Season with the Chocolate Banana Porridge Spice and chill, covered, for 30 minutes.

2
Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat).

3
Roll out the first puff pastry sheet, including the baking paper, on a baking tray and spread the nougat cream on top. Roll out the second pastry sheet and place it on top of the first. Using a sharp knife, make two cuts from the top centre of the pastry to the bottom right and left ends, creating a tree shape.

4
Cut the sides of the tree every 2 cm so that the trunk in the middle remains untouched. Then twist the individual strips of dough and brush the tree with the egg. Cut the leftover dough into 1 cm wide strips, twist them and place them next to the Christmas tree on the baking tray. Brush these with egg as well.

5
Bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes on the middle shelf until golden brown. Finally, sprinkle the icing sugar on top.

Tip: You can also use a chocolate nougat cream from the supermarket!
