1
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the red peppers on a baking tray and roast in the oven until the skin is charred for about 20 minutes. Place the walnuts on a small baking tray and toast in the oven for the final 9 minutes. Remove both trays from the oven and leave to cool. Remove the skin of the red peppers.

2
Put the roasted peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, garlic, lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, cumin, Vegetable Allrounder, olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper into a food processor. Blitz until the mixture is combined but with some chunks. (Or blend until totally smooth – it’s up to you!)

3
Taste and adjust the seasoning as required by adding more salt, pepper or lemon juice.

4
Toast the sourdough slices. Spread one heaped tablespoon of the muhammara dip across each slice.

5
Halve both avocados and remove the stone. Using a large spoon, scoop out the flesh and then slice. Top each piece of toast with the sliced avo and sprinkle over a generous amount of Avocado Topping.

Muhammara on avocado toast

This roasted red pepper dip is a delicious addition to your mezze spread, served with crudités, pitta bread and olives. Originating in Aleppo, Syria, muhammara is smoky and spicy and really livens up your avocado toast. Blend it smooth in the food processor for easy dipping, or leave it chunky for some bite. The Vegetable Allrounder adds the spice, the Avocado Topping brings the crunch.
