    olive oil
  • For the buns:

  • 50 ml
    full-fat milk
  • 21 g
    fresh yeast
  • 1 tbsp
    sugar
  • 250 g
    bread flour
  • 40 g
    butter
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 pinches
    salt
  • 1
    egg yolk
  • sesame seeds
  • For the toppings:

  • 2
    tomatoes
  • 1
    red onion
  • 4
    gherkins
  • 1
    romaine lettuce
  • 1
    spring onion
  • 8 slices
    bacon
  • 4 slices
    cheddar cheese
  • 4 tbsp
    burger sauce of your choice

1
Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat).

2
Heat the milk in a saucepan, dissolve the yeast in it and add the sugar and 1 pinch of salt. Put the flour into a large bowl and add the milk and sugar mixture to it. Melt the butter gently in a saucepan, mix with 1 egg and a pinch of salt, and then add to the flour.

3
Knead the dough thoroughly for about 10 minutes, cover and leave to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Then knead again briefly, form 4 equal-sized balls of dough and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

4
Whisk 1 egg yolk with a pinch of salt and brush the dough balls with it, sprinkling with a few sesame seeds. Leave to rise again for 30 minutes and then bake in the oven for 10–12 minutes.

5
For the burgers, knead the minced meat with the olive oil and BBQ Seasoning. Then divide into 4 equal portions, shape into patties and fry in a non-stick pan for about 3 minutes on each side.

6
When turning the burgers, cover the top with a slice of cheddar cheese on each side. Wash the tomatoes, peel the onions and slice both. Drain and slice the gherkins, and wash and dry the lettuce. Wash and clean the spring onion and slice finely into rings.

7
Finally, place the bacon in a non-stick frying pan and fry until crispy. Halve the burger buns, spread the burger sauce on one side, and add lettuce, onions, tomatoes and spring onions. Finally, place the burger and bacon on top and finish by putting the top half of the burger bun back on.
