Peel and finely dice the onion, and mince the garlic.

Clean the mushrooms and slice them thinly.

Heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion until soft and translucent. Add the sugar and garlic, frying briefly.

Add the mushrooms and cook for around five minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are lightly browned. Season with Garlic Pepper and salt, then set aside to cool.

Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares, approximately 12 to 15 cm in size.

Line a muffin tin with the pastry squares, allowing the edges to overlap slightly.

Cut the brie into small pieces and place one piece in the centre of each pastry case. Spoon the mushroom mixture over the brie, then gently fold the overlapping pastry over the filling.

Whisk the egg and brush it over the puff pastry cases.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (fan) for about 20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown.

Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and serve.
